SERA BOURGEAU

Sera Bourgeau is a USA 829 freelance Costume Designer based in New York City.
Her design work has been seen around New York in venues such as The Duke on 42nd Street, The New Ohio Theatre, Mabou Mines, the HERE Arts Center, The Tank, The Secret Theatre, the Baruch Performing Arts Center, and Theatre Lab. Her regional design credits include productions with Capital Repertory Theatre, ACT of Connecticut, Northern Stage, Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Long Wharf Theatre, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and Theatre at Monmouth, among others.
Over the years, Bourgeau has served as the Resident Costume Designer for Adirondack Theatre Festival, Cape May Stage, and Blessed Unrest in New York City. In 2019, she was selected as one of the 34 Young and Emerging Designers to represent the United States at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space.
Bourgeau has worked as an Associate and Assistant Designer on productions with New York Theatre Workshop, Emursive Productions, Target Margin Theatre, George Street Playhouse, The Mint Theatre/New York City Center, Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Guthrie Theatre, The Santa Fe Opera, and The New York City Opera among many others. Sera has worked as a full time Costume Production Assistant on both POWER: Season 4 (STARZ) and THE EQUALIZER: Season 1 (CBS/NBC), on which she was also promoted to the position of Costume Department Coordinator.
She received her MFA at the University of California - Irvine, and her BA at the University of New Hampshire, and is a proud member of United Scenic Artists - Local 829. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with the New York Junior League, and training in Aerial Silks and Hammock.
